Today, 1.2 billion people, or almost a fifth of the world’s population, live in areas of water scarcity, and, according to the U.N., this number will climb to almost 2 billion by 2025.  Water use has been growing at more than twice the rate of population increase in the last century, and climate change has exacerbated the problem.”
